Bernie Gurr is a proven international business executive with an established record of leading achievement in business, particularly the sports business. Bernie possesses a genuine global business background, having worked in Australia and the USA, with an extensive background in strategy, finance, sales and operations.
Bernie has loved and followed the game of Rugby League for over 50 years. Bernie played for the Roosters from 1978 through 1983, playing a small number of 1st Grade games. Bernie’s principal involvement has been in the sports management area, having been the Chief Executive Officer for the Sydney Roosters for 9 seasons from 1995 through 2003 and as Chief Executive Officer of the Parramatta Eels for 3 seasons from 2017 through 2019.
In addition, Bernie was Director of Finance for the 1994 Soccer World Cup, played across 9 cities in the USA.
Bernie has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of NSW and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
